Prohibited & Discouraged Items

At Boomerang Storage, safety, compliance with law, and the protection of all stored property are our top priorities. To ensure a secure, hygienic, and risk-free storage experience for everyone, certain items may never be stored, and others are strongly discouraged due to potential hazards, legal restrictions, or the risk of damage.

Prohibited Items

The following items are strictly prohibited in Boomerang Storage Containers and at our facilities. These items pose safety hazards, are illegal to store, or cannot be transported or stored under federal, state, or local regulations:

Flammables & Combustibles

  • Gasoline, diesel, kerosene, lighter fluid, and other fuels

  • Paint thinner, solvents, and volatile chemicals

  • Aerosol cans (compressed air, spray paint, hair spray, cooking sprays)

  • Propane tanks, oxygen tanks, and other pressurized gas cylinders

Hazardous Materials

  • Toxic or corrosive substances

  • Bleach, ammonia, acids, pesticides

  • Radioactive materials or biological waste

Illegal Items

  • Stolen goods or contraband

  • Illegal drugs, narcotics, or unlicensed substances

  • Counterfeit merchandise

Weapons & Explosives

  • Firearms of any kind

  • Ammunition, fireworks, explosive devices

  • Blades or weapons stored outside of proper locked containers

Living or Organic Matter

  • Animals of any kind (living or deceased)

  • Plants, soil, and other live biological material

  • Human or animal remains and ashes

Perishables & Food

  • Any fresh, frozen, or cooked food

  • Food products that attract pests or mold

Wet or Mold-Prone Items

  • Anything stored wet or damp

  • Soaked furniture or textiles that can promote mildew

Other Prohibited Items

  • Items that produce a strong odor, attract vermin, or create a nuisance

  • Unregistered or uninsured vehicles unless specifically authorized

  • Tires not mounted on a vehicle

These categories represent items that cannot be stored under any circumstances. If prohibited items are discovered, they may be removed or disposed of at the Customer’s expense, and your storage agreement may be terminated.

Discouraged Items

Though not absolutely prohibited, the following items are not recommended for storage with Boomerang due to risk of damage, potential loss, or lack of environmental protection:

Delicate or High-Value Items

  • Jewelry, watches, precious stones

  • Irreplaceable artwork or heirlooms

  • Rare stamps, coins, or collectible items

Critical Personal Records

  • Birth certificates, social security cards, wills

  • Financial documents, deeds, securities

Sensitive Storage Items

  • Vintage electronics that may be sensitive to vibration

  • Fine art without proper protective packaging

Because our standard storage methodology and container environment are designed for general household and business items, we recommend alternative secure storage solutions (e.g., safety deposit boxes, climate-controlled vaults) for these items.
